The Delhi police have arrested two house owners of a dhaba for allegedly raping a Mumbai-based occasion supervisor at a five-star lodge within the nationwide capital. The two males have been held on Saturday, November 21, based on the police.
The arrested duo, Micky Mehta, 57, and Navin Dwar, 46, are residents of Lajpat Nagar and Saket, respectively, in Delhi, although their restaurant is positioned close to Sonipat, Haryana.
The 27-year-old girl has instructed the police that she met her Facebook pal Mr Mehta and his pal Mr Dwar on November 18 and 19.
On their approach again from Connaught Place to the lodge positioned within the Aerocity locality close to the Delhi airport, on November 19, Mr Dwar started to misbehave along with her, she alleged. However, after dropping her exterior the lodge, together with Mr Mehta, he left.
The girl alleged that Mr Mehta then raped her inside her lodge room. Following the crime, he took her to the Anand Vihar locality, dropped her there, and fled.
The arrested duo has been remanded to judicial custody, the police mentioned.
In Delhi, based on a PTI report, over six girls are raped day-after-day. About 98 per cent of the rape accused in Delhi “were either close relatives or acquaintances” of the survivors or victims, the Delhi police instructed a parliamentary panel on November 18. In 44 per cent of the circumstances, the accused was a member of household or a household pal, a relative in 13 per cent, and a neighbour in 12 per cent circumstances, the police mentioned.
